I'll try to post as many doctor updates as possible, with out boring my tens of "followers" with too much medical speak. Sister had an appointment with her neurologist today. She had a very sleepy/cranky morning and a seizure (first one in 2 weeks), so I was worried the appointment might not go well, but she perked up after lunch and was almost back to her happy self by the time we saw the doctor. Sometimes it is nice for the doctor to see her not-so-fun moments so we don't sound crazy when we mention her off days. If you know Sister personally, you are thinking "how does that sweet girl have an off day?" Trust me, it ain't pretty.
At 19.5 months old she weighs 22.4 pounds, is 29 inches tall, and her head circumference was 40 cm in diameter...yep, still petite! We only had a couple "look how cute her glasses are" today, which is a sign that we have been at Pediatric Neurology long enough for everyone to meet her at least once. Brother came with us today and was an angel. I try not to drag him along to all of her doctor appointments, but sometimes we just do not have another option.
No tests were ordered, and no medications were added or increased, so over all it was a good visit. We asked about how often we should expect to see seizures occur, and of course there was no definite answer. As long as the seizures are not getting worse or more frequent, we are to assume the medications are working. I pray that eventually we will go months with out an episode...until then we continue to encourage Sister to meet her milestones at her own pace and have faith that God is with us in all that we do.
