If you have been following Lemonade Lifestyle from the beginning, you may remember my first blog post Lemonade Stand from November 2010. Well, it's been a year and while I am still a work in progress, I have learned a lot over the last year...
- It's ok to put myself first once in a while
- My husband and kids are amazing (well, even more so than I already thought)
- Things do not make you happy
- Doctors can be wrong and it is my right as a parent to call them out on it
- God can still hear you, even if you are not sitting in church every Sunday
- Not all of your friends will understand, but that's ok, they can still be your friends
- Working part-time can be an outlet to the grown up world
- Date nights are required in order to avoid becoming the 80%
- Rude people exist and will show their face when you least expect it
- The "r-word" is more powerful than it should be
- Driving a minivan is not as bad as it sounds
- You are never too old to make new friends
- Facebook can be used for good and not evil
- Having a support system in place makes hard days much easier
- Hobbies are not just for typical moms!
- Time management and color coded calendars can help avoid mommy meltdowns
- There is no law that states your laundry must be folded before the next weeks laundry begins
- Childrens' birthday parties and Halloween are triggers for depression
- The crock pot can save your family from eating another take out meal
- Pinterest is a great way of showing you there is life outside of the special needs world
- Old friends can come back into your life at any time and surprise you
- If you do good things, good things come back to you
